We are back!

Okay, okay...so it has been a little too long since my last post. Seriously, I hate it when people don't blog for like months and months. But, here I am doing that exact same thing. It has been a crazy year. Our biggest news is: we are pregnant! Hooray! I am 16 weeks along now and should find out very soon what we are having. I am also doing a little contest on our IVF blog to see what everyone thinks the gender of our baby is...so go check it out :)

Our life got really busy once again, as Flavio was called into our ward's bishopric. Our ward split and this calling came as a bit of a surprise, but I am very proud of him. He is such a great man and really loves the Gospel and serving in it.

We were able to go to Sea World and visit family this past month (more of that trip to be posted). And our little Lia turned 2! We can't believe it has been 2 years since we were blessed with this little spirit! She is full of life and is SO smart! She can count to 10 in both English and Portuguese. She know how to say pretty much everything she wants to say and can almost say her whole alphabet. She is, however, my terrible 2 year old. She screams and cries at everything. She does things just to see what I will do...she is a tester. I hope this phase goes by quickly. :0

I just wanted to share some cute pictures of my girls to start us back in the family blogging world. Lia has, among so many other things, has become difficult in her eating habits. However, Hannah can get her to eat, so here they are in this darling little display of sisterly love.

Waiting Game

Thank you everyone for keeping us in your prayers while we have been going through this in-vitro process. The embryo transfer went really well today, everything was very smooth and the staff at the University of Utah Reproductive Medicine team has been excellent. Everyone is so nice and helpful and very considerate of our situation.

Niki is doing great and is resting for the rest of the week, while the little embryos do their thing (please attach!).

So what now? Waiting. Lots and lots of waiting. Wish us luck, and please, prayers, lots of prayers for us.

Thanks!

Spending most of my time...

So, this little family blog has been a little neglected...and probably will be until our IVF is done. So keep tabs on what we are doing by going to: http://nikiandflavioivf.blogspot.com/ and to www.nikimartins.com. This is where I will be for the next couple of months :)

Slacking

So, I haven't really kept up with our regular lives on our family blog...so many other things going on I guess.

So far it has been a great Summer.

Flavio and I were able to go to St. Thomas with his work a couple of weeks ago. Thank you to Emily Poulson for watching our girls so we could have our first "real" vacation since before Hannah was born, with just the two of us.

St. Thomas was beautiful and warm and everything you can imagine the Virgin Islands to be.

(More pictures to come soon.)

We are getting our basement finished, although it is on hold while we pay for In-Vitro...but hopefully by the end of the year we will have it totally done and ready to live in :)

Our girls are getting big. Lia can say just about anything, which is nice, as being able to ask someone what they want is much easier than guessing. Hannah is a typical 4 year old. She is learning how to read and can already sound out most simple words. Also, as soon as I get my life together I plan on teaching her piano. She has always loved the piano and she seems to have a natural knack for it.

Flavio is doing great as work. We are very blessed in that department. He works for a great company that treats us really well.

As for me, well I am still plugging along with my photography. It is going a little slower than I would like, but I guess that is how you build a business, one day at a time. However, if any of you are thinking about getting pictures done or if your friends or family are, let me know :)

That is our life right now, along with our In-Vitro of course. We are very blessed and I am truly grateful for my life :)

Love ya!

New blog

So I have decided to do an IVF blog. I feel that it will help all our friends and family know what is going on and I think it will be therapeutic for me :) But most of all I hope it helps those out there who are struggling with infertility and need someone who understands. Please pass my blog on to those who you know may need a friend during their time of need.

Thanks!
